WE NEED YOUR HELP!

With recent cuts to AmeriCorps terminating all service members with the Preservation Alliance of WV, we are now severely limited in our capacity. As a small organization, we are only able to employ one regular staff member ourselves. Our AmeriCorps members helped keep both of our museums open, developed social media content, and helped plan and execute our many programs and events. Without them, we will immediately have to cut back on programing and events that our members and the community have grown to love.

We are trying to keep our now former AmeriCorps members along as long as we can, but we need your help! Your donations will go to making sure they can stick with us and provide the necessary support they have provided us throughout the years.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible!

Who are we?

The Marshall County Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of the history of Marshall County, West Virginia as well as educating others on our county’s rich history.

We strive to be the preeminent community steward and central educational location showcasing our county’s historical legacy.

By collecting, preserving, and promoting artifacts that reflect that legacy, we ensure that the many generations that come after us will be able to learn about the place they call home.

Our Museums

The M.C.H.S. operates two museums, the Marshall County History Museum and the Cockayne Farmstead.
